Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth have seemingly sung their "Last Song," and new details about the couple's split are surfacing. According to sources, 20-year-old Hemsworth may have been stepping out on Cyrus, who has been focusing on her career.
E! News reports that earlier this month, Hemsworth was seen flirting with admirers at a party in Newport Beach and hooking up with another young woman while partying in Huntington Beach during the US Open Surf Competition. Cyrus, 17, has been in Detroit filming the flick "LOL."
"Ever since she left for Detroit, Miley has been super focused on her work," a source described as an "insider close to the former couple" told E! News. "Liam wanted more, but she's 17 and has other priorities right now. He's been a distraction. [Miley's] not with anybody else."
Despite that assertion, rumors are now circulating that Cyrus may be spending quality time with co-star Adam Sevani. A photo of the pair allegedly hanging out on the set of "LOL" has circulated, although it is unclear if it is actually Sevani in the picture.
Hemsworth, who was seen hanging out alone at a Dave Matthews Band concert earlier this week, has reportedly visited the set of "LOL" twice. "Both visits were only about 24 hours in length — by Miley's choice," the insider told E! News. "She is not ready to settle down, and Liam's not a happy camper."
Breakup rumors have plagued the duo in the past, and they have been denied by Cyrus. And E! News' source said that the couple may not be completely over just yet: "They're both young. To say they are done forever would be premature, but it's safe to say for now they are doing their own thing."
However, Hemsworth's rep . Cyrus' refused to comment.

Miley Cyrus is ending the summer as a single lady. The teen queen has split from her boyfriend Liam Hemsworth after more than a year of dating.
Hemsworth's PR representative confirmed the "Can't Be Tamed" singer and her beefy Australian beau have officially called it quits. "It's true," the actor's rep told RadarOnline.com. The news comes after reports that the couple were getting serious. According to Radar, Cyrus recently purchased a .4 million house, not far from her parents' California home, where Hemsworth was a frequent guest.
Hemsworth and Cyrus struck up a romance after meeting on the film set of "The Last Song" in 2009. The pop star said earlier this year that although she wasn't on the lookout for a boyfriend, Hemsworth won her over with his gentlemanly charm.
"I kind of just wanted to focus on my work. I tend to hide behind my work sometimes," Cyrus said on "Ellen" in March. "But I met him, and he opened the door for me, and I was like, I have been in L.A. for three years and I don't think any guy has actually opened the door for me. It wasn't that he wanted the job. That's just who he is. I was like, 'Wow, that is super-impressive.' I actually turned to the director and said, 'He's got the job.' He's hot and he opened the door. Excellent."
Cyrus, who dropped her latest album, Can't Be Tamed, in June, said that much of the LP was inspired by her romance with Hemsworth.
"There are a lot of songs that are about Liam," Cyrus told MTV News when Tamed was released. "I tell him every one's about him," she quipped.

Sale benefiting the philanthropic social network Get Ur Good On begins later this month. By James Montgomery

Miley Cyrus is cleaning out her closet — for a good cause.
She's just announced plans to auction off her clothing and accessories on eBay. The proceeds will benefit Get Ur Good On, a social network aimed at connecting youth with volunteer and service opportunities in and around their communities.
"For me I get this amazing blessing and opportunity to do this every day and get up on stage and hopefully inspire people with my music," Cyrus said in a video message posted on the Get Ur Good On site. "And that's something that's really important to me, but so is getting involved in charities."
In recent months, it's been Cyrus' clothing (or lack thereof) that's garnered most of the headlines. But the new auction is just the latest charity endeavor she's undertaken with Youth Service America, the organization that runs Get Ur Good On.
Earlier this summer, she served as a spokesperson for YSA's "Blessings in a Backpack" mission, which provides weekend meals to children on free- or reduced-lunch programs.
"There's amazing charities right here in America. You don't have to travel 30 hours ... you don't have to give a billion dollars. It's not about how much or how far, it's about looking at your neighbors and seeing how you can help," Cyrus said. "This isn't just stuff that's all over the world, it's right here, it's right next to you. It's important to get involved."
Cyrus' Get Ur Good On auction is scheduled to begin later this month.

'But I think the girl's doing all right without me,' country-music legend says of the teen star. By Mawuse Ziegbe

Miley Cyrus has a country star watching over her, and it's not just dear ol' dad (and "Hannah Montana" co-star) Billy Ray Cyrus. Country legend Dolly Parton says she's also looking out for the teen queen.
The "Can't Be Tamed" singer and the blond icon joined forces in May for a duet — a rendition of Parton's 1973 hit single "Jolene" — during a celebration of Dollywood, the singer's namesake Shangri-La. Parton showed the teen superstar some love after performing with her for the Hallmark Channel special taped earlier this year, commemorating 25 years of the Tennessee theme park.
Miley has been getting some heat lately for what her critics say is an increasingly sexed-up image, a budding persona at odds with the inoffensive sass of the Disney series that launched the teen to stardom. However, Parton, who has built a decades-long career and entertainment empire blending sweet, down-home wholesomeness with bubbly, busty sex appeal, maintains that Cyrus is headed in the right direction.
"I'm just real proud of her," Parton said. "She does not need my advice, but she's often asking for information and advice, and I tell her what I know, but I think the girl's doing all right without me."
In addition to the Miley/Dolly duet, the special will feature performances from Kenny Rogers and Billy Ray, who has known Parton since he first burst onto the scene in the early '90s with his mega-hit "Achy Breaky Heart." Parton said the tribute show thoroughly represents the successful amusement park.
"There are a lot of wonderful things," she said. "It shows the park really great, and the audience and all the people that work here, so we've really covered it in every respect."

Miley Cyrus' Can't Be Tamed debuts at #3, behind Drake's Thank Me Later. By Gil Kaufman
Eminem Photo: Kevin Mazur/ Getty Images
Guess who's back? Eminem is notching his sixth #1 album in a row with Recovery, which sold more than 741,000 copies last week. Those numbers dwarfed the figures for the all of the rest of the top 10 on next week's Billboard 200 albums chart, as Slim Shady put up the best first-week numbers since 2008, far surpassing year's other big debuts (Drake, Lady Antebellum, Sade).
Proving once again that despite the album's early leak, his fans will still come out to support the Detroit MC, Em's massive haul pushes last week's #1, Drake's Thank Me Later down to #2. Sales for Drake's debut cratered by 65 percent to 157,000, but the melodic Young Money MC still passed the gold mark in just two weeks, according to numbers provided by Nielsen SoundScan.
Miley Cyrus had a rough landing for her more mature Can't Be Tamed, which comes in at #3 on sales of 102,000, less than half of what 2008's Breakout did in its debut week (371,000). And though he still hasn't reached his goal of snagging a #1 debut on the U.S. charts, metal legend Ozzy Osbourne's latest solo effort, Scream, lands at #4 after moving 81,000 copies. It's followed at #6 by the chart bow from the Roots' long-in-the-works How I Got Over (51,000).
In a relatively slow week on the charts, the rest of the top 10 include: Now 34 (#5, 55,000), Jack Johnson's To the Sea (#7, 44,000), Justin Bieber's My World 2.0 (#8, 43,000), Sarah McLachlan's Laws of Illusion (#9, 38,000) and the soundtrack to "Eclipse" (#10, 38,000).
Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers' Mojo crashes down nine spots in week two to #11, as sales dipped by 74 percent to 33,000. After 24 weeks in the top 10, Lady Antebellum's Need You Now has dropped to #12 on sales of 32,000. Meanwhile, Christina Aguilera's Bionic continues to struggle, as the singer's latest slips out of the top 10 after just three weeks, dropping to #22 as sales trailed off by 54 percent to 18,000.
One of Aguilera's collaborators, singer Sia, debuts at #37 with We Are Born (11,000), while soul mama Macy Gray is right behind at #38 with Sellout (11,000). As the world marked the one-year anniversary of his death, Michael Jackson's Number Ones collection rockets up more than 50 spots to #42 on sales of just under 10,000 (one of several Jackson titles to march back up the charts this week). Mötley Crüe singer Vince Neil comes in at #47 with his solo covers album, Tattoos & Tequila, a title that might seem unfortunate given his arrest for suspected DUI this week in Las Vegas.
Over on the iTunes charts, Eminem holds down both #1 slots, topping the singles tally with the Rihanna duet "Love the Way You Lie" and the albums chart, after just missing the top spot last week following just one day on sale. Drake trades spots on the album list, dropping down to #2 as Cyrus settles in at #3, followed by the Roots, Johnson, Glee: The Music, Journey to Regionals, Osbourne, "Eclipse," McLachlan and B.o.B's B.o.B Presents: The Adventures of Bobby Ray. (iTunes does not release sales figures.)
The former #1 on the iTunes singles charts, Katy Perry's "California Gurls," slips to #2, followed by B.o.B.'s "Airplanes," Travie McCoy's "Billionaire," Usher's "OMG" and newcomer Mike Posner's "Cooler Than Me." The top 10 is filled out with Jason Derulo's "Ridin' Solo," Em's "Not Afraid," Taio Cruz's "Dynamite" and Drake's "Find Your Love."
Eminem may be able to hold the Billboard crown for another cycle, as next week's contenders include The-Dream, 3OH!3 and Scissor Sisters.
'Not enough people told him [how great he was],' Cyrus declares of the late King of Pop. By Jocelyn Vena, with reporting by Sway Calloway

Much like Michael Jackson, Miley Cyrus found fame as a child star. So, on the one-year anniversary of the King of Pop's untimely death, the teen queen reflected on the man who paved the way for the pop stars who followed him. Cyrus wished more people had shared with him how much they appreciated what he did during his life.
"It's just crazy again with the media and all that. Nobody ever wrote an article just to say, 'Hey, Michael, we really appreciate what you do!' " she told MTV News. "I wish I would have had the opportunity [to tell him how I felt about him when he was alive]."
Cyrus added that people tend to remember how great an artist was when they have already passed. "Not enough people told him [how great he was] and I think it's sad that you have to wait till it's too late," she added. "But I think he knows."
The "Can't Be Tamed" singer was never able to meet Jackson and tell him how she felt, but she did pay tribute to him in her own way. During a recent appearance on "Good Morning America," she changed the Jay-Z line in "Party in the U.S.A." to reference MJ. Also, there was one other time that really stood out to her.
"I'm a huge fan of Michael Jackson. When I met Lady Gaga I was wearing a Michael Jackson T-shirt and, for me, that was completely surreal — because the female artist that inspired me and the male artist that inspired me is a lot of Lady Gaga and a lot of Michael Jackson," she explained. "And a little bit of a mix so that picture [in the MJ T-shirt meeting Gaga] means a lot to me. Again, I think God works in mysterious ways and had me wear that for a reason."
MTV will be remembering the life and music of Michael Jackson all weekend. Don't miss the one-hour special "Michael Jackson's Influence on Music," airing Friday at 6:30 p.m. on MTV.
'I think she's always herself to the full,' singer tells MTV News. By Jocelyn Vena, with reporting by Sway Calloway

Miley Cyrus might be pals with pop stars like Justin Bieber and she might make pop albums, but she says that when she goes home at night, pop is the last thing she listens to. Unless, that is, you're talking about Lady Gaga, in which case she's all about The Fame Monster.
"Huge fan! That's my pop guilty pleasure. I love Lady Gaga," Cyrus recently told MTV News. "I think she's always herself to the full. I don't see anyone trying to put together her stuff — she does it herself. She's very creative, I think, just taking that upon yourself and knowing that the only way it's going to be done the way you want it to be is to be heavily involved."
Cyrus admits that she really loves Gaga's whole image; it's not just about the music. "Even though she's a pop artist, I look at her videos and I don't see a squeaky pop singer or perky all the time," she explained. "Her stuff means real things, so she's cool. I like her."
Not only does Cyrus admire Gaga, she also recently revealed her love for the late Michael Jackson.
But that's pretty much where the pop music love begins and ends.
"People are always like, 'What do you mean you don't listen to pop music and you're a pop artist?' But there's something about performing to those dance vibes that is so much fun," she said. "I work so much, so I like really chill [music] or just rock, you know, real, real stuff. But on my record I like dancing. I like performing pop music."

'It's just about freeing yourself from anything you think is holding you back,' she says of her new album. By Jocelyn Vena, with reporting by Sway Calloway
Miley Cyrus Photo: MTV News
Miley Cyrus has always been about girl power. Her tracks like "7 Things" and "The Climb" may at first glance seem like party anthems or weepy ballads, but she thinks that upon closer inspection her lyrics empower young women. And she says the tracks on her new album, Can't Be Tamed, are no different.
"I think 'Tamed' does it the best, and 'Liberty Walk,' " she told MTV News. "It's just about freeing yourself from anything you think is holding you back. And I think that's really important, especially for girls, because so many people are told, 'No, you can't do something,' or, 'You need to be this because Mom and Dad say that, teachers say this.' "
Her advice? Try to see what advice makes the most sense for your life. "Really think about what you want to do for the rest of your life," the 17-year-old said. "There's a short amount of time, when you think about it, and no day needs to go by wasted."
As for "Liberty Walk," Cyrus said she tried to combine a very serious topic with a lighter sound. "I wrote it for women that feel like they're stuck in abusive relationships, but it's a dance song," she said. "So you think that must be kind of a sad ballad, but it's a party song. ... It's about breaking free."

'It's speaking to the music,' Cyrus says of her 'rhythmic' stylings on Can't Be Tamed. By Jocelyn Vena, with reporting by Sway Calloway

In addition to adopting an edgier look and sound on her new album, Can't Be Tamed, Miley Cyrus is also trying out a new way of expressing herself. On tracks like "Liberty Walk," Cyrus raps — but please, don't call MC an MC.
"I call it more of a spoken, rhythmic [singing style]," she explained. "I'm not a rap type. Maybe a little bit. It's speaking to the music, but if I say that I'm a rapper, I'm going to be like, 'I'm not a rapper.' I've got no flow in that way. I've got no swag."
Her "Can't Be Tamed" single, however, did just get a hip-hop makeover, courtesy of Lil Jon, who Cyrus said took the track to a whole new level. "He's sick," she said. "I love him, because he just made this song. It was already something that set me apart, but it just [became something more with him]. You know, the fact that he respects my music and we are completely opposite styles, and the fact that he can be like, 'OK, this is a good song,' it just shows you don't have to be a certain age, gender [to like it].
"It's a dance song," she added about the remix. "It's a party song, and he's awesome. I like how he's one person when he's chilling in the studio. I've never seen someone flip on and off. He's got, like, double personas ... like so wired. It's cool."
Although she once admitted she has never heard a Jay-Z song — despite her Jay-referencing line in "Party in the U.S.A." — she does have a few other favorite MCs, including Gucci Mane and OJ Da Juiceman. "I love it," she said of the two rappers. "I don't know any of the songs. They all blend in. I can't really break it up, but I like it. But I'm not a rapper."
